Tutorial 02: Batch Renamer

Sooner or later every Mac user comes across the File Renaming Challenge. It goes like this…

Imagine you have three image files in a folder. You want each of their file names to begin with a word describing when or where they were taken, followed by a numeric sequence, like: 001, 002, 003, etc.

Renaming the files, by selecting them one-at-time and typing their new names, is not too difficult if you’re renaming one, two, or three files. But what do you do if you have to rename 50, 100, or even 300 files?

In this tutorial, you will use Automator to create a reusable file renaming tool that will make renaming one or a hundred files, very easy!
